This month’s quote is from George Bernard Shaw who needs no introducing.
I first came across this quote while listening to Earl Nightingale’s Strangest Secret. The intensity with which Nightingale read the quote resonated with me and made me tick.
This month, take a few moments to think about your struggles and seek to understand whether you are complaining and intensifying the problem by doing so. What if you could simply decide to act on your problem and take a first step in its accomplishment, would you do it? Think about what could be stopping you. Most of the times, it’s you and only you.
If you’re not where you want to be right now, did it occur to you that watching TV every day instead of building a plan to reach your goal could be adding up to the problem?
If you’re not ready for an upcoming race, have you taken the time to prepare a plan that includes rest time and training time?
These are a few examples to illustrate what this quote means. I like to remind myself that nothing comes easy in life, but if you seek hard enough for what you want and stick to it, you’ll eventually make it. Listen, If I was able to run a marathon while being overweight, so can you. Just be willing to pay the price. That should do the trick.
